The Day of the Triffids

A shower of meteorites produces a nighttime spectacle that blinds. Many everyone was watching Since it was a sight, and as a consequence, 99 percent of the entire world's population go completely blind. In the original book, this insanity results in the escape of Triffids plants harvested for their own monies, and that are capable of moving themselves around and so are carnivorous. In this film version, however, the Triffids are not plants that are native. They have been space aliens whose spores have came at this along with an earlier meteor shower. For straying far away from the source material, derided by the author, John Wyndham of the novel.
