Refreshments Will Be a British Tv Set on BBC Two. The first broadcast between 2002 and 1982, it was that the first television programme at the UK to pay the subject of food and drink without recipe and cookery presentations.
Created in 1982 by BBC manufacturer Henry Murray in an original idea by Jancis Robinson, Fay Maschler and Paul Levy, the primary show was presented by Simon Bates along with Gillian Miles, also introduced Jilly Goolden in her first regular television appearances as the programme's wine expert. Russell Harty presented location reports from restaurants across Britain. This show featured the innovative notion of a small leading audience of 20 individuals who were called"tasters and testers". The first show broadcast in the summer months but was instantly successful, drawing an average audience of 1.5 million a week, a top rating for BBC 2 at the summer at the 80s.
Chris Kelly and chef Michael Barry introduced later series with Oz Clarke and wine pros Jilly Goolden.
A spinoff panel game, Drink Summer Quiz and Food, aired in 1987 during the summertime of the show.

Food and Drink February 2013 returned into BBC 2 on 4 co-hosted by Michel Roux Jr and Kate Goodman.
