The Return of Iljimae

The Return of Iljimae is a 2009 South Korean historical Activity television Show, starring Jung Il-woo at the title role of Iljimae, Yoon Jin-seo, Kim Min-jong and Jung Hye-young. It aired on MBC from January 21 to April 9, 2009 on Thursdays and Wednesdays at 21:55 for 24 events. The series is centered on comic-strip Iljimae, published between 1977 and 1975, by Ko Woo-yung which was based on a Chinese folklore from the Ming dynasty throughout the Joseon era about a masked Robin Hood-esque character. MBC bought the rights for their adaptation, that had been to celebrity Lee Seung-gi at Iljimae's title character. However he pulled out and was substituted by Jung, helping to make him the actor to play with the protagonist following Lee Joon-gi for Iljimae and Jang Donggun.
