Eyeshield 21
Eyeshield 21 is a Japanese manga series written by Riichiro Inagaki and exemplified by Yusuke Murata. The show tells the story of Sena Kobayakawa, a boy who joins an American soccer team as a secretary, but later being coerced by Hiruma, turns out to play wearing an eye shield and the number 21, under the pseudonym of"eye shield 21". Inagaki chose football as a central theme of eye shield 2-1 after realizing that it fit perfectly together with his own idea to the set.
The manga was initially serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Sh?nen Bound from July 2002 to June 2009. The show consists of 333 chapters gathered in 37 tank?bon volumes. An adaptation consisting of 145 tv episodes was led by Masayoshi Nishida, also co-produced by TV Tokyo, NAS, and Gallop. The tv show first aired on Japan's TV Tokyo network from April 6, 2005 to March 19, 2008. Even the eye shield 21 franchise has spawned sound recordings, two video cartoons, video games, along with other goods.
In North America, the manga was published by Viz Media from April 2005 to October 2011. The anime show was later licensed in North America by Toonami jet-stream as a concerted effort using Viz Media, also aired on December 17, 2007 on its site, but the streaming service had been closed down. The entire show was first staged in English while Sentai Filmworks licensed the sequence, with distribution from Section23 Movies on DVDs.
